Design Vision
This Maadi villa transformation represents a perfect blend of contemporary design principles with the warmth and functionality needed for modern family living. The project focused on creating seamless connections between indoor and outdoor spaces while incorporating sustainable materials and biophilic design elements.
The original villa, built in the 1980s, required a complete reimagining to meet the family's evolving needs. Our approach preserved the home's structural integrity while completely transforming its aesthetic and functional capabilities.
Design Challenge
The primary challenge was modernizing a traditional villa layout while maintaining the sense of home and family connection. The clients wanted open, flowing spaces that could accommodate both intimate family moments and larger gatherings, all while ensuring sustainability and connection to nature.
Solution & Approach
We removed several non-load-bearing walls to create an open-plan living area that flows seamlessly from the kitchen through the dining and living spaces to the outdoor terrace. Large sliding glass doors were installed to maximize natural light and create visual continuity with the garden.
Sustainable Features
Sustainability was a core consideration throughout the design process. We incorporated energy-efficient LED lighting systems, low-VOC materials, and locally-sourced natural stone. The HVAC system was completely upgraded with smart climate control to optimize energy consumption.
Result
The transformed villa now serves as a perfect example of how traditional architecture can be modernized without losing its character. The family enjoys 40% more usable living space, significantly improved natural light, and a 30% reduction in energy costs compared to the original configuration.
